Kelly Jin, PhD
Scientist
at Allen Institute
Kelly Jin is a scientist at the Allen Institute for Brain Science specializing in genomics and cellular biology research in the mouse brain. Her current work focuses on understanding how gene expression in the brain changes with healthy aging, which cell types are most vulnerable to these changes and how these changes ultimately contribute to age-associated disease and cognitive decline. Kelly received her Ph.D. in Pathology from University of Washington in the lab of Dr. Daniel Promislow studying aging in the context of natural genetic variation. Prior to that, Kelly received her M.S. in Cell Biology from the University of California San Diego studying bioluminescent marine algae. She is passionate about open science and training the next generation of interdisciplinary scientists to think creatively and collaboratively about challenging biological questions.
